Triaxial Load Frames are used to determine shear strength tests, (stress-strain relationships) of soil samples mounted in triaxial test cells pressurized with a fluid to replicate confining pressures. Karol-Warner manufactures Triaxial Load frames in 10,000 or 20,000lbf (44.5 or 89kN) capacities, and with a wide range of strain rates that are controllable to ±1% of the setpoint, allowing the Geotechnical Testing labs to perform unconsolidated-undrained (UU), consolidated-undrained (CU), consolidated-drained (CD) with pore-pressure as well as Unconfined compressive strength tests.

All models include heavy-duty 14-gauge steel cabinets, vertical 1.25in (32mm) diameter coarse-threaded rods that allow the crosshead to quickly and easily adjust to the height for a variety of sample configurations. These load frames are compatible with Karol Warner and many other manufacturers; Triaxial Cells, Load Cells, Load Rings, LVDT, and Dial indicators. The versatile triaxial load frame units are also quickly adaptable to other popular soil testing applications by simply changing out minor components and accessories, making them a valuable resource in a lab that performs a wide array of soil strength tests. Karol-Warner also offers Data Acquisition Software which records data and calculates results for unconsolidated-undrained (UU), consolidated-undrained (CU), consolidated-drained (CD), and unconfined compressive strength of soil samples.
