Triaxial Cell is used for triaxial shear testing of soil specimens 1.4 to 3in (35.6 to 76.2mm) diameter and can perform testing of flexible wall permeability soil samples. The clear, heavy acrylic chamber wall is rated to pressure. A low-friction, precision ground and polished 1in (25.4mm) stainless steel loading piston is mounted through an internally lubed u-cup to seal in pressurized fluid. Test chambers features quality zero-volume change ball valves and fittings. Test cells have heavy machined anodized aluminum base and top to resist corrosion. Chambers are constructed of clear, heavy acrylic and include a piston lock and dial indicator bracket.
3400 Triaxial Cell features brass ball valves and fittings with a pressure rating to 150psi (10.3bar).
3400SS Triaxial Cell features stainless steel ball valves and fittings for resistance to corrosion and enhanced durability. Has a pressure rating to 150psi (10.3bar).
3400HP Triaxial Cell is reinforced with stainless steel bands to allow testing of soil specimens at pressures up to 500psi (34.5bar). Valves and fittings are brass.
Test Cell Kits (sold separately) contain all components required to outfit the Triaxial Cell to test for a specimen size. Kits include a Top Cap and Bottom Pedestal, two Porous Stones, four Sealing O-Rings, and two 0.012in Latex Membranes. The pedestal has flow through lines and is keyed to prevent turning during installation. Components are also available individually. At least one kit or the necessary individual components are required for proper operation of the triaxial chamber.
